Todd was born and raised in the heart of Ontario's Shipbuilding and Ski Country, Collingwood, Ontario. Feeling stifled by the confines of small-town life, Todd constantly found himself exploring the vast natural surrounding of the Niagara Escarpment and the shorelines of Lake Huron and southern Georgian Bay.
After attending Appleby College in Oakville, Todd attended college, first at Georgian College, Owen Sound where he studied business management. He then studied architectural design under prof. John Acres and latter at Centennial College, Toronto. After several years in the construction industry, Todd returned to school, this time at the University of Waterloo, to study architecture and fine art history, augmenting his classes with numerous courses at the University of Western Ontario and York University. all the while continuing to explore the hills, shores and forests of Ontario. It was during this time that he first picked up a camera and began to document his explorations. It was also during this time that his life-long itch to travel took him further abroad where he discovered the rich diversity of life and cultures in places like Europe, Africa and The Middle East. After a few years of globetrotting Todd returned to Canada to work in the commercial real estate development industry with his father, and built a web and graphic design company.
Once settled into work, he was able to hone his skills and gain invaluable experience photographing spectacular products such as photography pottery and residential real estate and fine art. Todd has been freelancing since 1999 doing editorial and corporate photography. He continues to explore and build a library of images from around the Ontario focusing on landscape, wildlife and portraits that work to capture the often profound relationships between people and their environments.
Todd is based in Collingwood, Ontario. where he also works in his spare time with Paralympic Ontario, Ontario Special Olympics and the Ontario O-Cup racing series.
