I am currently swimming the Channel. Not as I type, obviously, that would be silly. And not in the sea either (cos it would be cold at this time of year). Instead I will be swimming the Channel distance of 35,400m over the next few weeks before 7th, December 2008 in aid of Aspire. It's still quite a task - 1416 lengths of a 25m pool at a minimum rate of 118 lengths a week. I WAS A LIFEGUARD FOR 25 YEARS i STIL KEEP MY HAND IN TEACHING AND EXAMS FOR THE ROYAL LIFESAVING SOCIETY. If you need kiss of life or C.P.R. let me know. Got your own pool in the sun I'll come and do a bit of lifeguarding......

I love swimming and am starting my winter depression because it's time to close my pool here in NY! : - (
