Although my early years were in London, some of my strongest and earliest memories are of horses. The refuse cart was drawn by two horses with big shaggy feet and big nosebags – from down where I was that was all I could see. I was not allowed close in case they trod on me. The policeman rode a horse, and we sometimes went past a forge, with an open front, where horses were being shod.
Later on, in the country, I worked with horses for a couple of years, and we kept a little mare at home.
Nowadays I just hang out on the moors and photograph the wild ponies, visit point to point races, or a horse trials.
Hopefully, this group will build a directory of horse people and their favourite websites.
When we get personal links, I expect I will add in the local equine protection site.
